V is for Velvet
New fashion obsession that needs to be addressed: I’ve apparently fallen for velvet. Velvet jumpers, velvet leggings, velvet cardi’s, velvet boots, velvet dresses, velvet velvet velvet. Like a vampire thirsting for blood, I’m constantly on the lookout for anything velour (since that is in fact the same thing as velvet). Once I see something in store, I’m immediately in ooh’s and aah’s and all over the fabric. It’s just so soft! After landing myself this blue velvet number, I was on the hunt for the perfect burgundy velvet jumper. Rich fabric ànd rich colour = double the fun! I hoped to get my hands on a vintage number (increase in cool, decrease in expenses) but no luck there. On to that other store then, the one where everything looks second-hand, except for the price tags. American Apparel.
Much like anything at AA this sweater too is a unisex style. The lack of XS’s in stock left me with a small as my only option, and the small left me with an overexcess of sleeve. Luckily there’s no such thing as too much soft fabric, so I happily cosy up in the oversized sleeves whenever I’m outside.
A lot of different textures and materials going on in this outfit. Probably a bit too much for a walk in the woods, but I kinda like how they all blend in together. Velvet, leather, shiny revers and hairy boots. Unusual combo, to say the least.
