Life Feed #7

I am obviously going to ignore the fact that I AM STILL STUDYING – but freedom is around the corner waiting for me to ace my final exam on Tuesday! So here’s what I’ve been up to this week:
  • I discovered I have a thing for collars.
  • And glitter shoes.
  • I re-discovered Skittles and remembered how much I dislike the purple ones (TOO many purple ones in a bag!!).
  • I turned to raw fish in times of need.
  • I went crazy at Tommy Hilfiger. Crayy-zee! More about that later.
  • I was attracted by too-small-to-put-anything-in-them shiny silver bags, hot pink coats and furry hats.
  • And to end this summary on a slightly less egocentric note: I got mommy a beautiful new bag. Because she’s mommy!

Life Feed #6 - Holidays

I know, I know, it’s been a month – but IT’S NEVER TO LATE FOR HOLIDAY PICS, right? I’m currently still on an outfit hiatus (thanks to stuDYING) so here are a few impressions of how I spend Christmas and New Year’s Eve with family and friends.

Introducing Mamzel & WinWinWin

All I seem to talk about nowadays are online shops, e-shops and webshops. I showed you some of my online sale-finds here and wrote about girly vintage shop Me and Maria here, and today is no different (well there is something in it for you guys this time, but we’ll get to that in a moment).

Allow me to introduce Mamzel, the online resource for cute gifts, pretty things and must-haves. Having a hard time finding a fitting gift for a family member, co-worker or friend? Browse through the extensive collection of goodies and gadgets and you’ll find the perfect gift in no time.

Mr. Mailman

After three weeks of constant studying and dragging myself from bed to desk and back, I’m happy to say I’m finally taking a trip outside today! Not the best timing since my actual exams are only a few days away – OHMYGOD – but I needed some fresh air and I promise to study extra hard when I get back. Where I’m off to? Shopping, what else! I’m excited to see what the sales have ‘in store’ for me :)

Online sale shopping mostly is as good as it gets for me, at least for the time being, so I’m browsing through the internetzzz on the hunt for the perfect items. I get seduced by mail notifications from all kinds of different stores multiple times a day, and sometimes I manage to stay strong and ignore them, but sometimes I just cave in and click things right into my shopping basket. I do however feel that I’m much more contemplative in regards to what I buy and that makes me a good girl – with a relieved credit card.

Anyways, I did find myself some pretty new things online. - and I made a collage out of them!

I re-discovered the Monki online shop thanks to some great twitter-recommendations, and I was so happy I did! Their sale is really good and everything was so cheap that I had to contain myself from not getting everything. I went for a cute dress (it has hearts instead of polka dots – ooh), a peacock printed scarfs and a timeless striped sweater. Shipping to Belgium is €6 and their delivery is the best it gets. It only took 2 days for me to receive my order.

Another first-timer for me was Urban Outfitters. I’m a regular in their Antwerp store and went to check out the opening of the new Brussels store (read here), but I had never ordered online before. Until I fell in love with these lace-up glitter booties that were standing there, with an 80% discount, looking at me like two sparkly disco balls. How could I not? Shipping costs are quite expensive but lucky me, shipping to Belgium was on sale too ;) I received them yesterday after ordering them on a Friday night, so that makes a wait of 3 workdays. Not bad, Urban Outfitters, and my new shoes were worth the wait! THEY SPARKLE!!

Let’s end this sales-tale with a sad story. Never before had I ordered something on Nelly.com (I kind of dislike their webshop, it’s all over the place) but I had my eye on these suede green heels ever since I first saw them on someone-who-I-can’t-remember’s blog 6 months ago. Happy me when I discovered the shoes were only €24.90 and free shipping. Bargain! I ordered them around Christmas and was told to expect them before New Year’s Eve. As of today I still haven’t received them – sad face – but Nelly’s customer’s service has been helpful. We’ll see what happens next!

I'll keep you updated on my real life shopping spree and my adjustments to outside life in a next post! In the meantime, check out this interview I did for Steve & Charlie and let me know if you liked it!

Nice to Meet You #1

A new year, a new theme post!

I’ve been brainstorming with my team (that is me, myself and I) about new fun posts to put on the blog on a regular basis – besides outfit posts of course, there will be a lot of my awkward posing posted in the near future – and this is what I’ve come up with. There are so many cool blogs out there, and so many cool ladies behind them, but sometimes it’s just hard to come across the ones you really like. So as of today I’m introducing you to some pretty cool blogging babes and their style every once in a while!

Up today: three of Belgium’s finest fashion bloggers.

Annebeth Bels, the blogging force behind personal fashion blog Styling Dutchman, is a regular on Dogs and Dresses. Not only do I see her from time to time to shoot outfit pictures with, I check her blog on a daily basis as well. Sounds stalkerish? Isn’t it, because this kiddo posts EVERY DAY. Vraiment, not a day goes by without Annebeth snapping pictures in front of a building, a Christmas ornament or her notorious grey wall. If you want straight-forward, real and wearable outfit looks that never bore, then this is the place to go! On the moodboard: Vintage pieces, tartan, brigh hair colour, and a lot of cute collars. If she’s ever in need of a pseudonym, she should go for AnneBeth Collar. ABC. Simple as that.

A brown-haired blogger from Belgium? Must be Kim Siroyt from BrunetteBlogging. What I love about her blog is the consistency in the looks she wears. Kim is one cute, sweet, adorable girl*, and it shows! She often wears the prettiest dresses and floral skirts, paired with flats or super high heels, a satchel and some kind of head-accessory. Add a blazer or a tough parka to the mix ét voilà!

*I’m sorry Kim, I know you don’t like to be called all those things too often – BUT IT’S TRUE, in the best way possible!

Piwiwi.. Professional model-alert! It’s Paulien Riemis from Polienne, a blog I’ve discovered a long time ago but still manages to keep me interested. Paulien’s looks are always different; she mixes different styles, fabrics, patterns and shapes into one effortless chique look, and it always works. Besides that I can count on her to make my neighborhood just a bit more stylish – yes we’re neighbors! Something girly, vintage, leather, technology and the signature panda-hat, the keywords to Paulien’s wardrobe if you ask me!

I hope you’ve had as much fun reading this as I had making this post! Which collage suits your style best? If you feel my readers and I should get to know you, just let me know (tweet, mail, comment, facebook, write, instagram,…) and maybe you, your style and your blog get featured!
