Confidence is not for Sale

Life is full of unexpected situations – be it happy surprises or unforeseen difficulties. But aren’t these the things that make us who we are as a person? I for one believe that, no matter how big the pitfall that presents itself, in the end you’ll find yourself having gained from each and every experience life throws at you. All you have to do is believe in yourself and have confidence. It’s this point of view that forms the principle of VILA’s latest campaign. The Danish brand pictures the young, fashion-conscious woman who is not afraid to show her femininity and sensuality, but is equally aware that, after tripping over a few times in life, you just pick up your stilettos and keep going. A lesson that can be extended to life in general; dust yourself off and try again. Confidence is key!

To spread the Confidence is not for sale message, VILA compiled a shirt video of embarrassing but human catwalk moments gone bad. Make sure you press play and have yourself a few OOH en AUWCH-moments.

Webshop in Review: Zalando

If you enjoy a good online shopping-session from time to time, you’ve probably already heard of Zalando. This giant webshop offers everything from fashion over shoes and accessories to even home interior. They recenty started shipping to Belgium (visit zalando.be and get your shopping on) so I just had to try out their service. Here’s how it all went down!

Because Zalando offers a huge amount of brands to choose from, it took me quite some time to discover all the online store has to offer. I browsed through beautiful dresses by French Connection, Neom scented candles, beautiful leather See by Chloe bags and a truckload of other pretty stuff. Overly enthusiastic I clicked a bunch of things right into my basket – but that’s just the beauty of online shopping: clicking doesn’t necessarily mean buying. Window shopping 2.0 FTW!

In the end I decided on a simple sweatshirt by Only, a pair of grey suede ankle boots with block heel and an iconic mustache shirt by Eleven Paris. Ordered on the weekend and delivered right onto my doorstep on Wednesday = good service! (only downside: it was 8.30 AM when the delivery guy rang the bell – yawnnn).

Turned out the booties are a tad too small, so after trying them on I wrapped them back up, printed out the return form from the Zalando website and delivered them at the post office free of charge. Easybreezy!

Have you tried this new webshop? Will you? Are you frantically clicking around the Zalando playground as we speak? Of course you are. Have fun!

Sales | a Wishlist

WELCOME TO MY CLOSET! ...is what I would say to each and every item pictured in this post if I had any room left. My closets are getting out of control again and I vowed to myself not to add any unnecessary stuff without selling some of it first. So I updated my closet salecheck it out! – but in the meantime it doesn’t hurt to look around, right? Here are my highly discounted picks!

As luck would have it, ASOS now offers an additional 10% off sale items. Just add discount code 10SALE at the check-out. Below are my top picks in the cute dresses / cardigans / shoes category.

Maasmechelen Village: My kind of Theme Park

Maasmechelen Village, the Disneyland of designer outlet shopping! Located only a twenty-minute drive away from my hometown, this outlet village is the place I go to in order to satisfy my designer cravings. With almost every visit I discover new stores – the village is ever-expanding. The list of shops include Michael Kors, UGG Australia, Furla, Puma, Essentiel, Tommy Hilfiger, Versace, L’Occitane and many – MANY – more.

I stopped by on Wednesday with shopping partner in crime and BFF Sigrid to check out the sales. All year round Maasmechelen Village offers discounts up to -70%, and a lot of shops offer an extra -50% off this month only. Sales on outlet prices = a very happy me! Scroll down to see what I took home with me.

Shopping is hard work so Sigrid and I went for a bite to eat at Cellini’s, one of the many restaurants in the Village. We ordered the largest pizza I’ve ever seen (exhibit A here) and then proceeded to devour every piece of it. YUMZ. After fuelling up on caffeine, we were ready for round 2.

I scored some new denim from 7 For All Mankind – high rise, dark washed, sequins on the back pockets. A total bargain at only €85!

Life Feed #10: the June round-up

Most of June was dedicated to studying, and I’m very glad say I passed all my exams *high five*. Next up: the final year of Uni and the last year of being a carefree student *sob*. Since today is the first of July, I decided to do a small round-up of all the things I’ve been up to the past month. Let’s take a look.

In June I... wore clothes!
