Denimocrazy | Levi's Curve ID fitting

The first brand jeans I ever bought were Levi’s. I must have been around 10 when I first got bit by the denim bug, and jeans have been a big part of my wardrobe ever since. All throughout high school I wore nothing but denim. Needless to say my closet was filled to the brim with jeans from all sorts of brands. But somehow, Levi’s have always been my faves. My love for denim’s still here but the search for the perfect fitting jeans hasn’t gotten easier through the years. So when I got invited for a personal Curve ID fitting at the Levi’s store in the Kammenstraat in Antwerp I was très excited – and curious.

The Levi’s salesgirl wrapped a few cords around me and measured the difference between my waist and the widest point of my hips. The Curve ID basically tells you which kind of model works best for your body. I’m right in between the slight and demi curve - there’s also the bold curve for women with a small waist and curvy hips. After trying on some models, I decided I liked the fit of the slight curve best. My fave pair of light washed denim is ripped to shreds after wearing them non-stop, so I was in need of a new pair. I chose a light stonewashed colour which will work perfectly for the transition into fall. This made me very happy - as pictured below.

Food and drinks were also present.

As were my favourite blogger friends! It had been a while since we all last seen each other, so obviously a lot of chatting took place.

Camo jackets were trending. That same night I went out for a few drinks and ended the night with quite the nasty fall. I smacked face-down on a slippery street and my knee’s seriously bruised up. There was blood involved. A single tear. And the immediate thought "OMG please don’t let my brand new jeans be ripped". They weren’t. Not even a scratch (apart from the big stain of blood on the inside). Conclusion: my Levi’s are tougher than me.

The content of my Levi's bag will be featured in lots of outfit posts to come. If you fancy a personal Curve ID fitting, don't hesitate to stop by the Levi's store in the Kammenstraat in Antwerp. They'll be glad to help you find your pair of dream denim!

Plum's | the word

pics by Robin M.
wearing: jeans - River Island / top - Mango Suit /
shoes - Ash via Spartoo schoenen

Rise and shine! Quickie outfit post as it is now 06:45 AM and I’m already behind on schedule. I tried to hit the sack at a decent hour last night, but the going-away party we hosted for a girlfriend got a bit too fun. Of course no sack-hitting whatsoever happened before midnight. So after a short night I’m already up and running - so unlike me! This morning I’m catching the train to Antwerp to check out the location for our awesome Bloggers Closet Sale, after which I’ll drop by very cool shop The Public Image to try some stuff on and shoot a few pictures. The fashion madness doesn’t end there, because later on I’m invited for a Curve ID fitting at the Levi’s store. A busy but excited day filled with lots of fashion fun. Want some real time updates? I’ll keep you posted via instagram. Hit that follow button on your smartphone! X

YSL & White | In the Woods

wearing: leather jacket & jeans Zara / shirt: Oasap / sunnies: H&M /

My brother and I (re)discovered the prettiest piece of nature right in our little hometown and I’m seriously thinking about driving up there every day just to shoot my outfit pics. It’s fun to venture into the wild a bit before I head back to everyday college life in the city. So before I go back to posting pictures of me surrounded by concrete bricks I’ll try to post as many outdoorsy ones as possible.

Ahh, the YSL logo change. It has been a much talked about item on many a blog, and although it is sad to see such an iconic trademark disappear, ain’t nothing we can do about it. The shirt I’m wearing here is obviously not the real deal but comes from Oasap.com. Usually not a big fan of logo print shirts, I found myself gravitating towards this particular piece because it seemed fun to mix into a casual cool outfit. My shoes got lost in the bushes of lavender but I was wearing my navy blue chucks, my go-to shoes for any laid-back look.

Weekend’s already over, but I had a fun two days filled with old-school family activities. After going for a hike with the bro we went to visit our cute grandparents with whom we made plans to go out for an elaborate family dinner at the best Chinese place in town – and we even found ourselves testing our luck at the local carnival. Bro and I both got lucky. Here’s to hoping the new week will be just as fun!

Sunday Shopping | King Cat

Meow - all hail King Cat from outer space! After featuring a tank top with crazy kitten print in one of my festival collages here, I got quite a few enthusiastic reactions about it. So you’ll be happy to hear that I stumbled upon a very similar and equally cool cat-printed dress shirt during one of my late night eBay browsing sessions. It’s supposed to be a dress or oversized shirt (depending on your height – keep in mind that this item ships from Korea and Korean garments tend to be shorter) and it's chic, in a crazy way. It'll set you back about €15 shipping included, which I think is quite the bargain. You like?

Find your own King Cat shirt here.

Lunch on a | Summer's Day

wearing: top and shorts by H&M - flats by Pretty Ballerinas via Spartoo schoenen
- bag by Veritas - shades by Ray Ban

Earlier this week I met up with girl friend Gitte to make some Italy-arrangements. We decided to spend the first two days of our Italian journey near Lake Como and the last two in the middle of Milan. It’s goint to be superfun, especially since I’ll be celebrating my 23th birthday on Italian ground. What better way to celebrate life than by lounging near a beautiful lake and chilling in a wonderful city? Also looking forward to shoot some pretty pictures with the breathtaking scenery in the background.

The weather was extremely sunny and hot that particular day, which left me extremely confused as to what to wear. When temperatures rise above 30° I can’t be bothered with wearing more than a bikini. Not really appropriate for a date in the city, so this is the best I could come up with: a (way too hot) pajama-like top from H&M’s new collection paired with broderie anglaise-shorts from their Conscious Collection from a few seasons ago.

Signing off with the lunch I had at CafĂ©matic – which is literally around the corner from my place.YUMZ.

Online shopping | For Less

The amount of time I spend scrolling through online shops is ridiculous. I often try to comfort my conscience with the thought that ‘it’s all for the sake of the blog’, but every now and then I click a few things into my basket and hit the check-out button. Nothing wrong with a bit of online shopping, I LOVE the fact that you don’t need to leave the house and can browse stores at any given time. But it can be a costly hobby, so discounts and offers are always welcome.

That’s why I am glad to share this tip with you, as it’s no longer needed to google your way through dodgy sites for a usable discount code. Just stop by the recently opened website solden.be and you'll get a list of the available offers on a lot of my favourite online shops. My gianormous wishlist over at Zalando gets a 10% discount just by checking Solden.be and hooray, my favourite online shoe store Spartoo is also on the discount list. From now on this website will be the first destination when I feel like spending some time on online shops!

Simple Summer | Too Hot To Dress

wearing: denim cut offs - H&M divided / top - Mango /
sandals & sunnies - H&M / tote bag - See by Chloe

CAUTION: EXTREMELY SIMPLE OUTFIT. Dressing while the city is burning isn’t one of my strong points. Black top, denim cut-offs and sandals seemed the best way to go. Looking back I look boring as hell so I was doubting posting these pictures because they have nothing to add to my style AT. ALL. Buuuut they remind me of a fun afternoon I had with Afrodite from The Fashion Folio, so what the heck. Afro and I met up to talk business, munch on bagels Sandy Cohen-style and try on Marc by Marc Jacobs bags. This is what makes us girls.

Barnini in Antwerp serves the best bagels. Our order? The mozzarella and rucola one and one with salmon, both cut into two so we could share. Aaaah we so cute.

Back On Track | Braids & Glitter

wearing: lace top, silk skirt and very glittery heels by Zara /

After a week of non-stop festival fun, I’m finally back to regular programming. Once again I was having too much fun and thus didn’t take a single appropriate festival outfit pic – oops!

This week is all about sleeping in, meeting up with friends and arranging my trip to Italy. I'm flying to Milan in two weeks and we have nothing planned yet, so all your travel tips are more than welcome. The best bars, hostels, vintage shops, markets, pizza places, … fill me in!

Another very exciting event I’m busy organizing is the big, magical, awesome BLOGGERS CLOSET SALE. Check the event page here and click attend if you want to browse through 10 of the most fashionable blogger closets ;) I’ll talk more about this event in a next post, it’s going to be good!
