After attending the LabelLov super sale on Saturday – and landing myself an amazingly sexy Issa dress for an amazingly sexy price! –new collegue Marie-Lynne and I attended the Clouds of Fashion show. Clouds of Fashion is the baby of Laurentine, an ambitious 22-year old girlboss. For her store in the middle of Antwerp, Laurentine selects the most trending clothing, bags and accessories, and word on the street is that this gal has style. I had heard a lot about Clouds of Fashion but hadn’t seen it with my own eyes yet – so on Saturday around seven I eagerly walked into the show venue of the night in Park Spoor Noord and gasped.
Whoa, this place looks amazing! A sea of pretty young girls slid from one way to the other, all toting their designer(ish) bags, high heels and iPhone. Our place on the front row gave a clear view of the enthusiastic #selfie-action going on at the other side of the catwalk, and I washed away all the girly prettiness with a glass of champagne. The models (real girls!) modelled the latest collection, which was a combination of girly dresses, though leather jackets, short sequin party shorts and preppy sweaters, but all as accessible and on-trend as can be. I totally understood why Clouds of Fashion is a hot spot with the younger fashion loving crowd. So when the time came to applaud for Miss CoF herself, I almost clapped my hands off.
It was supposed to be a fabulous evening revolving around trendy clothing straight from the vaults of Antwerp’s finest Clouds of Fashion. And it sure was!
Still high from my fashion buzz, I ventured onto my 1.5 hour drive home, only to find myself stranded at the side of the freeway with a flat tire in the middle of the night. Yep, I could have thought of better endings to that night. But luckily I had my new furry vest to keep me warm. ;)
