The all American love story between the pop star and iconic sneaker brand Keds had me travelling to Amsterdam to attend the Dutch leg of Taylor’s 1989 World Tour. With my Keds on my feet and “22” on repeat in my head we boarded a train, checked in at the Citizen M hotel and got ourselves ready for the show. I must admit I’m not the biggest fan of miss Taylor – but that’s probably because I’m not a part of her target audience. I do know A LOT of her songs by heart, I’ve come to find out. From ‘Blank Space’ over ‘Never Ever Getting Back Together’ to ‘Romeo and Juliet’, I proudly mouthed every word and let my inner sixteen year old come to life. If I was still around that age, or if I had a daughter, I would definitely want her to listen to Taylor’s music and believe what she’s selling: a sense of empowerment and friendship. Taylor really comes across as a cute, friendly and kindhearted girl, which almost makes me want to forgive her lack of dance moves ;-)
Taylor Swift launced a special limited edition collection of Keds sneakers in honour of her 1989 tour, and of course I rocked my pair to the show! Turns out they are the perfect sneakers to dance all night on.
I’ll let the pictures do all the talking – I’ve posted a major story to my snapchat account, so be quick if you still want to watch it! @dogsanddresses
