Last Saturday it was finally time for the long anticipated Magnum Pleasure Hunt
to set foot in Antwerp. One lucky reader of this blog got the chance to spend a voucher of €100, and I willingly followed her around doing so. This lucky lady was Charlotte
. We met up at the Pleasure Bar
, where we both got our bracelets to enjoy the discounts and freebies this hunt had to offer, along with a coupon for a free ice cream or cava, a map of all the shops participating, and a shopping bag that proved to be very handy.
Hunting target: MBMJ
Charlotte is a fan of Mister Jacobs’s work, much like me, so we went on the hunt for some nice Marc by Marc Jacobs goodies. First stop: Princess Blue, just around the corner from the Pleasure Bar. Embossed iPad sleeves, neon laptop covers and cute iPhone cases welcomed us from behind the shop windows. Spending €100 is something that needs to be thought through, so we decided to check out a few other stores before making the final decision.
Time to refuel
Next up was Forever21, where Charlotte fell in love with a pair of high heeled sparkly pumps, and Princess, where we got sucked in yet again by all the pretty bags and ensembles in the shop window. After browsing around we decided it was time to refuel, so we headed straight to the Pleasure Bar to indulge in the newest Magnum Infinity ice cream whilst listening to the DJ and watching people get free massages and manicures.
Renaissance & YOUR
We decided to trade in the well-known (and super-crowded) shopping streets in the center of Antwerp for the slightly less-crowded Nationalestraat
, where we drooled over everything at Renaissance
(Acne! Alex Wang! Dior!), after which we dropped by YOUR Premium Store
. If you’re looking for a quirky present this is the place to go to!
The final verdict
After a hard time deciding on the design and colour, Charlotte eventually went for a retro-inspired iPhone case
(bought at Princess) and a green neoprene laptop sleeve
(bought at Princess Blue). The final verdict? Ice cream and shopping makes for a Saturday well-spend
. Thanks for having us, Magnum
